This blackberry martini is a gin martini recipe. It has coconut rum and pineapple juice. This martini is the perfect New Year’s Eve Cocktail

What do you do when you have blackberries left over? That was my conundrum after I had a box left over from my slow cooker blackberry jam.

Ordinarily, I would just put them into a smoothie recipe, but, that would be boring because I just posted a healthy smoothie recipe

Tips for making it

– If you use store-bought blackberry jam, use a little extra.  Add about 1 tsp more per glass

– Garnish with a blackberry and olives or even a strip of coconut

– Keep it chilled until ready to serve

– Use tequila instead of coconut rum for a stronger martini

– The recipe also works with strawberry jam.

Since it is so close to the end of the year, I thought I would create a cocktail recipe. A fruity recipe is exactly what December calls for because drink recipes are in demand now.

This one is a gin martini recipe because I thought blackberry jam and coconut rum worked better with it.

Why Blackberry jam?

Instead of using fresh blackberries, I used my blackberry jam. It was freshly made and I had all the ingredients needed for a blackberry martini.

Blackberry jam also gives the drink a deeper sweetness to the martini. This martini has a little sludginess that makes it stand out.

Finally, I garnished it with frozen blackberries but you can garnish it with fresh blackberries.

For the alcohol, I went with Malibu strawberry rum because it’s the perfect complement to the blackberry. This rum also makes a simple Malibu drink transport you to the Islands!

If you love something sparkly instead, then there is a delicious drink for you. This limoncello spritz is made with Prosecco wine which makes it stand out.
