Why just have burgers for lunch or dinner?

Tips for making it

  • Do not thaw out the burger patties beforehand. They will become soggy and messy when you try to shallow fry them.
  • Similarly, do not thaw out the frozen blueberries for the sauce. You will have a very runny sauce that is hard to spread on the mini bagels.
  • While the patties are on the stove top, stand close by. I got distracted by my phone and had a burnt mess on my hand.
  • The blueberry sauce is not a sweet sauce, making it perfect for this breakfast burger. If you want to use it in a different recipe, add maple syrup for sweetness.

Plant Based Patties

When you are transitioning from omnivore to plant based, it’s important to have options like these soy patties on hand. They have the denseness and texture of meat patties.

Luckily, there are easily available at most supermarket stores. You can also get good deals on them.

So, buy a few of these packets and freeze them.

Eventually, you want to start weaning of them slowly. They are, after all, a processed food. I know I just said that, lol. But, it’s a good fact to know.

Why I love these everything bagel breakfast burgers

As many of you know, I am not a huge fan of eating breakfast. Breakfast, for me, has always been THE meal to skip. In the past, I have made overnight oats, waffles and pancakes.

But none of these breakfasts have ever made me want to continue eating breakfast.

Then, came this burger and it made me love breakfast all over again! The best part of this recipe is that it doesn’t feel like breakfast. It feels like a full meal that will be enough to give me energy throughout the day!

Plus, the patties have 9 essential amino acids that are crucial for all those on a plant-based diet! That makes me so happy!

Questions about making this breakfast

As you make this everything bagel seasoning burger recipe, you are bound to have questions. Here are answers to the common questions you may have. Feel free to ask your own comments below.

I can’t find mini everything bagels. What can I do?

If you can’t find mini everything bagels, make your own. Start with a plain or whole wheat mini bagel. Apply a little bit of melted butter on the top half of the bagel. Then, sprinkle everything bagel seasoning on it and toast in the oven.
If you don’t want to do the extra work, sprinkle the everything bagel spice on the patties after you have stacked them on the mini bagels. That seasoning adds a wonderful flavor to the burgers

Can I make the burgers beforehand?

I only recommend cooking the patties and storing them beforehand. The whole burger doesn’t do well when refrigerated after cooking.
So, roast the patties stove top as outlined below and then save them in a glass container, preferably not stacked.

Can I use standard size everything bagels?

Yes, you can absolutely use regular bagel sizes for these burgers. The patties are small, so, you can flatten them to fit the regular bagel (optional)

Can I make these burgers for lunch?

Yes, you sure can! I love these burgers for breakfast, brunch or lunch. I even served it with a side of yucca fries. So delicious.

How to make plant-based breakfast burgers

First, cook the burger patties

  • Add 2 patties to the pan.

  • After about 8 minutes, flip them. The packaging recommends 12 minutes on each side, but, I found that the patties will burn if kept that long.

  • Once they are cooked on both sides, set them aside.
