“One day a week, cut out meat” – Meatless Monday
Today is the proudest day in my blogging history. I am happy to announce that my blog has partnered with the Meatless Monday movement to bring you delicious meat-free recipes every week. I am so excited that I think I am actually going to faint!
Even before I started this blog, I was a huge follower of the Meatless Monday movement. I spent hours making recipes I found under Meatless Monday tag. I felt a part of the movement long ago.
The Meatless Monday movement has its roots in World War One. In those days, the FDA was urging conservation of food items to aid the war effort. They introduced to be “Meatless Monday” and “Wheatless Wednesday”. This campaign was hugely successful and it helped conserve rations.
Fast forward to 2003, Sid Lerner decided to revive the campaign with the help of Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
Since its re-introduction, this movement has grown to be a massive success. It gained in popularity after the twitter hashtag #MeatlessMonday was introduced.
I love the message behind this movement. It is simple and yet, very creative.

Congratulations and a well deserved partnership. I love to go meatless not just on Mondays, but 2 or 3 times a week, it’s good for our bodies and I’m a big follower of Meatless Monday.
