Storing the butter
- I store my butter in a (Affiliate Link) small mason jar and it will last a long time, when refrigerated
- You can also wrap this compound butter in parchment paper.
- Place parchment paper in a bread pan and then pour the butter in it.
- Once cooled to a solid, wrap the parchment paper around the butter and remove from the bread pan.
- Refrigerate and it will last months.
- You can also pour it into ice cube tray and refrigerate it. For best results, use (Affiliate Link) ice cube trays with a built in cover. This will keep it from getting the freezer burns and freezer taste.

How to make Lemon Balm Butter
- Start with your fresh lemon balm herb. Take about 5-10 leaves and chop it up finely.
- Then, chop up your other fresh herbs. I used Cuban oregano, fresh mint and purple basil. Be careful with Cuban oregano because it has powerful flavors too and can overtake the Lemon balm. I used only 1 leaf.
- Finely grate garlic cloves. I used 2 cloves of garlic, but, you can add to taste.
- Melt half stick of butter (4 Tbsp). Ideally, melt the butter stove top because it is safer than microwaving it.
- Add the freshly chopped lemon balm and other herbs to the melted butter. I mixed them up in a bowl after the butter had a chance to cool down
- Add 1/2 tsp of lemon pepper.
- Add the grated garlic and mix well.
- Transfer to mason jar or into ice cube tray
- Refrigerate or freeze for 2 weeks to 6 months.
