This is a regular long island iced tea with a little Mango liqueur added to it. This cocktail recipe is a perfect summer tequila drink
I am all into cocktail recipes lately. I guess it is the summer heat that is beating down on me here in Florida.
I have experimented with so many tequila drinks over the last week, I think my apartment is beginning to smell like a bar.
A little cigarette smoke would complete the ambiance!
It is funny that I never drank Long Island iced tea in the twelve years I was in New York.
Now that I am Florida, I find myself experimenting recipes for Long Island iced teas, Manhattans, Cosmos and the side car. Hmmm, I wonder why that is the case??
“You may leave New York, but, New York will never leave you”. That was the wisdom my friend gave me when I moved.
She was so right….
Setting aside nostalgia, there is also another reason why I have this flavored drink recipe.
I got a huge and very positive response from my cantaloupe margarita recipe. All of you seemed to love the idea of mixed drinks with fruit infused flavors.
Let me know your thoughts on this long island tea recipe.
There are mango vodka drinks that you can use in this recipe, but, I found that mango liqueur is the best.
You can use the classic Long Island Iced Tea recipes, but, I modified it just a little. I prefer using superfine sugar instead of triple sec.
The traditional Long Island iced tea was created by Robert Butt in 1972.
There may be a few more flavored drinks and tequila drinks coming on the blog.
What is your favorite New York drink?

This is the worst thing I’ve ever seen on the internet. Shaking cola? 8 oz of spirits? ‘Grapefruit’ gin? You, madame, are drunk.
Healing Tomato says
Thank you, Matthew. The worst thing? I think this is the worst thing I have seen on the internet. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/picturegalleries/howaboutthat/9245779/My-parent-is-an-idiot-the-worlds-worst-parents-in-pictures.html
