We tasted honey butter at a restaurant back in the 1990s and have loved it ever since. It made rolls taste so good, so I have been making this butter at home since then.

The best part is that I can make this butter with just 2 ingredients, and I don’t need a big food processor either. It comes out great when I make it in my rinki-dink processor that is falling apart.

Grass-fed butter

I used Kerrygold’s unsalted butter instead of regular butter. It is on the expensive side, but this butter will last a long time, and it can be used in so many recipes. Grass-fed butter is rich in Omega-3 fatty acids, Vitamin A, Vitamin K, CLA, and so much more. See citations below.

Honey

I find that honey is the best ingredient to sweeten butter. It’s a cheap ingredient to buy and can last a long time. If your honey is crystallized, not liquid, check out this crystallized honey tip from Pam. I used regular honey, but if you have manuka honey, that will work too. I used only 1 tbsp, but you can go up to 2 tablespoons of honey in this recipe.

  1. In a mini food processor, place the butter and blend it on low speed until it’s almost creamy.

Honey blends so well and quickly with the butter.

2. Add the honey to the butter and blend it on high speed until the texture is silky. To cut the sweetness, add a pinch of sea salt.

It’s ready to serve right out of the processor. Or, transfer it to a mason jar for storage in the refrigerator. I use this (Amazon Affiliate Link) mason jar and refrigerate it for use within 6 months.
