black bean paste

tsp
chopped jalapeno

tsp
red pepper flakes.
Instructions
Boil about 3 quarts of water
While the water is boiling, shred the cabbage
Shred one long carrot (about 3/4 cup of shredded carrot)
Chop 5 cloves of garlic. Adjust the garlic to your taste
The water should be boiled by now. Add Lo Mein Noodles and cook for 5 minutes
Drain most of the water. Save about 1 cup for the Lo Mein.
Wash the cooked lo mein noodles with cold water and set aside
In a skillet, add 2 tbsp of oil and heat at medium heat for 30 seconds
Add the garlic cloves to the oil and stir fry them for about 30 seconds or until they brown slightly
Add the carrots and cabbage to it and stir fry for about 7-10 minutes or until soft
While that is cooking, assemble the sauce. In a bowl, add 1 Tbsp of soy sauce
Add 1 tsp of sesame oil
Add 1 Tbsp of black bean paste
Add the water that was set aside and mix well
The cabbage mixture should be done by now. Add tsp of chopped jalapeno
Add the Lo Mein noodles
Add the sauce mixture to the noodles and stir well
Adjust taste for salt. Top with 1 tsp of red pepper flakes.
Serve this easy Lo Mein recipe immediately.
